Rock The Campus

In celebration of Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary, Rock The Campus presented by Rock The Bells and FORD lit up Alabama State University with a powerful tribute to the deep-rooted connection between Hip-Hop and HBCU culture. Hosted by ASU alum 2 Chainz, alongside Skooly and rising student talent, this unforgettable experience fused performance, history, and purpose — all backed by the iconic Marching Hornets.

From a transformed dance theater into a Hip-Hop time capsule, to intimate on-campus performances, this series honors how HBCUs spark creativity, shape visionaries, and power progress.

Origin: Our Head of Sales at Rock The Bells had a long-standing relationship with Ford, which opened the door to a unique opportunity. Ford expressed a desire to create something meaningful in partnership with HBCUs that would go beyond the typical campaign. With only broad guidance to develop original content featuring Hip-Hop icons, we built this campaign from the ground up specifically for Ford. The result is a powerful, purpose-driven collaboration that honors legacy, inspires the next generation, and deepens the connection between Hip-Hop and HBCU culture.

Highlights: The campaign earned widespread acclaim, securing a prestigious Gold Telly Award for Best Social Campaign, along with Silver Telly Awards for Outstanding Brand Collaboration and Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). These honors underscore the campaign’s powerful impact at the intersection of culture, community, and innovation.
